A Creative approach for beginners
The Frame Loom Weaving
Courses are a block of 5 sections. Each section systematically presents weaving
theories, techniques and practice. As you advance through each session, new challenges
are presented. The goal of these courses is to learn the basics of hand weaving
on the small frame loom. At the end of the
beginner block the student will be able to set up and weave small simple
tapestries or to create a simple products on their own.
Summary of the course:
- Introduction to weaving technology
- Learn the basic terminology and theory
- How to prepare a design and choose materials
- Preparing the frame and tools for weaving
- Hand weaving process - tapestry technique – step by step
- Final weaving works
- Sampler of basic patterns
- Simple textile accessories
- Small products

placemats, handbag, wallet, pillow-case, rug, small hanging tapestry etc.ABOUT MARKÉTA:
She is a visual artist from the Czech Republic.She is a graduate of the Textile Art department in the Academy of Arts, Design and Architecture in Prague.
Markéta is a visual artist from Prague in the Czech Republic. She received a master’s degree in Textile Art from the Academy of Arts, Design and Architecture in Prague, where she also taught textile techniques in a high school for students with special education needs She arrived in Merida in 2011 and has dedicated time at TRAMANTES, a weaving workshop and also gives weaving courses at HABLA- The Center for Language and Culture and CASA ORIEL GALLERY where she is now giving a course in FRAME WEAVING.
